Junior Explorer Jumps on Gold Sample Results: Canadian Daily Small/Micro Cap Market Movers

Redstar Gold Corp. (TSXV: RGC)
shares shot up 43% to $0.05 on Friday after the exploration company announced
the first results from the 2014 exploration program at its 100% owned
Unga Gold Project in Alaska, which included rock samples with grades of up to 401
g/t gold and 266 g/t silver.

As well,
shares of Ivanhoe Energy Inc. (TSX: IE)
plunged 41% to $0.60 as the heavy oil exploration and development company said
it could default on an interest payment of about $2.1 million due on December 31,
and is considering putting the company up for sale.

Pinetree Capital Ltd. (TSX: PNP),
meanwhile, announced that it has “cured” the previously-announced default of
one of its debt incurrence covenants contained in the convertible debenture
indenture that governs the company’s 10% convertible unsecured subordinated
debentures due May 31, 2016, which involved the repaying the $3.3 million of
additional indebtedness. Pinetree stock moved up 15% to $0.115.

Finally, ViXS Systems Inc. (TSX: VXS) shares
surged 17% to $1.49 after the media processing solutions provider reported
third-quarter revenue that surged 48% year over year to $10.8 million, while
its product margin for the quarter rose to 50.7%.
