Small
cap stocks making big moves on Monday, May 5, 2014 (as of 4 pm EST)
Hyperdynamics Corporation (NYSE: HDY)
shares skyrocketed 199% to $4.46 on volume of more than 26.3 million shares
Monday after the independent oil and gas exploration and production company
announced that Tullow Guinea Limited provided notice to the Government of
Guinea and the other members of the Consortium that Tullow has lifted, with
effect from May 3 2014, its declaration of Force Majeure under the Production
Sharing Contract and the Joint Operating Agreement.
As well,
shares of BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSFT) sank 19% to
$20.16 on more than 4.8 million shares traded as the provider of Internet
protocol-based communications services reported first-quarter financial results
that fell short of the Wall Street forecast and provided second quarter
earnings per share guidance that was below the analyst consensus estimate.
Arotech Corporation (NASDAQ: ARTX), meanwhile,
said it has received new orders from military customers amounting to $5.2
million. The orders will be delivered to customers during the remainder of
2014. Arotech stock popped 11% to $3.73 following the announcement.
Finally,
Lydall, Inc. (NYSE: LDL)
shares jumped 10% to $26.03 after the specialty engineered products manufacturer
announced that its first quarter net sales increased 26.5% to $125.2 million.
