LakeLand Industries (NASDAQ: LAKE)
shares shot up 53% to $17.72 on Thursday on heavy trading volume. More than 47.1 million shares have traded so far today, which is more than nine times the
average daily volume. The stock is trading higher for the fifth consecutive day
following the death of the first U.S. patient who was diagnosed with the Ebola
virus.
As well,
shares of Hubspot Inc. (NYSE: HUBS)
surged 20% to $30.10 on volume of more than 8.1 million shares following the
company’s IPO today. The company is promising 5 million common shares at the
public price of $25 per share. In addition, Hubspot has authorized the
underwriters a 30 day option to purchase an additional 750,000 common shares to
cover over-allotments.
Ruby Tuesday (NYSE: RT)
stock also climbed 15% to $6.82 with a trading volume of about 3.6 million
shares. Its share price got a boost as the restaurant chain reported a smaller
than expected adjusted loss in its fiscal first quarter.
Finally,
Kofax Limited (NASDAQ: KFX)
shares sank 25% to $5.86 after Craig-Hallum downgraded its stock to “hold” from
“buy” at following lower than expected first quarter earnings results and a
reduced outlook for the full year.
