Romarco Minerals Inc. (TSX: R)
shares shot up 16% to $0.56 on volume of more than 7.6 million shares Monday
after the gold project developer said that the South Carolina Board of Health
and Environmental Control has declined to consider the Sierra Club’s request
for a Final Review Conference on the Department’s decision to issue a Mine
Operating permit for Romarco’s 100%-owned Haile Gold Mine project, thus the
Department’s decision to issue the permit has now become the Final Agency
Decision.
As
well, shares of Ecuador Gold &
Copper Corp. (TSXV: EGX)
slid 29% to $0.05 as the junior explorer announced that its Consulting Engineers
have released metallurgical test work results on the company’s flagship Santa
Barbara Project and have advised Ecuador Gold & Copper that the PEA will be
completed by the end of January 2015.
Aphria Inc. (TSXV: APH)
stock, meanwhile, popped 110% to $0.84 after shares of the medical marijuana
supplier began trading on the TSX Venture Exchange today.
Finally,
Environmental Waste International Inc.
(TSXV: EWS)
shares powered 60% higher to $0.04 after the company that specializes in
eco-friendly systems for the breakdown of organic materials reported that it
had terminated negotiations with A. C. Simmonds and Sons Inc. for the
acquisition of EWS by ACS in an exchange of stock.
