Chaparral Gold Corp. (TSX: CHL)
shares surged 19% to $0.605 on volume of more than 3 million shares Thursday
after the Nevada-focused precious metals company said it has agreed to be
acquired by Goldrock Mines Corp. (TSXV: GRM)
for $0.61 per share in cash, or a total value of approximately $73.4 million on
a fully diluted basis.
As well,
shares of Robex Ressources Inc. (TSXV: RBX)
plunged 40% to $0.075 on more than 3.9 million shares traded as the resource junior
announced that it is suspending its operations at the Nampala mine in Mali,
West Africa for an undetermined amount of time.
Lakeland Resources Inc. (TSXV: LK),
meanwhile, reported that it has completed a summer work program at its wholly-owned
Lazy Edward Bay Property in the Athabasca Basin, and exploration has identified radioactive
springs with radioactive muds at surface, and strongly radioactive boulders. Lakeland
stock popped 15% to $0.075 following the announcement.
Finally,
The Intertain Group Limited (TSX: IT)
shares rose 7% to $12.40 after the online gaming company said it has agreed to
acquire all of the assets of Dumarca Holdings Limited, the Malta-based parent
company of global online casino provier Vera & John group, for a total consideration
of up to $126.1 million. Intertain Group added that it expects the transaction will
provide the company access to new geographic markets as well as growing and
stable cash flows.
