Giga-tronics Incorporated (NASDAQ: GIGA)
shares shot up 14% to $2.36 on volume of more than 1.4 million shares Tuesday
after the microwave components manufacturer reported a 50% increase in its first
quarter net sales to $4.5 million, while its operating loss for the period
narrowed to $118,000 from $1.5 million.
As well,
shares of RetailMeNot, Inc. (NASDAQ: SALE)
sank 28% to $18.15 on more than 19.3 million shares traded as the digital offers marketplace
announced Q2 revenue that missed analysts’ expectations and slashed its
full year revenue outlook.
Chegg, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHGG),
meanwhile, reported second-quarter earnings that surpassed analysts’
expectations and announced a new partnership with Ingram Content Group, in
which Ingram with handle textbook sourcing, warehousing, fulfillment,
shipping, and rental returns. Chegg offers online services to students. Chegg
stock popped 21% to $7.10 following the announcement.
Finally,
Mueller Water Products, Inc. (NYSE: MWA)
shares climbed 13% to $8.86 after the manufacturer of products and services
used in the transmission, distribution and measurement of water in North
America had its stock upgraded by Brean Capital to “buy” from
“hold” with a $10 price target, citing the recent pullback in its
share price as well as improving new home construction.
