Gentiva Health Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: GTIV)
shares soared 62% to $13.83 on volume of more than 6.4 million shares Thursday
after Kindred Healthcare Inc. said the home healthcare services company had
rejected its $533 million, or $14 per share in cash and stock, takeover bid
saying it expects to generate more value as a stand-alone company.
As well,
shares of Liquid Holdings Group, Inc.
(NASDAQ:
LIQD) plummeted 46% to $1.24 on more than 3.9 million shares traded as the
company announced the pricing of a follow-on offering of 32 million of its
common stock at a public offering price of $1.25 per share.
Zendesk Inc. (NYSE: ZEN)
stock, meanwhile, shot up 49% to $13.43 on its first day of trading. Zendesk is
cloud-based customer-service software maker.
Finally,
NQ Mobile Inc. (NYSE: NQ)
shares sank 29% to $7.27 after the provider of mobile Internet services said it
would be unable to file its annual report on Form 20-F on time.
