Fortegra Financial Corporation (NYSE: FRF)
shares surged 41% to $9.87 on volume of more than 4.4 million shares Tuesday
after Tiptree Financial Inc. (NASDAQ: TIPT)
said it would acquire the insurance services company for $10.00 per share in
cash, or a total consideration of approximately $218 million.
As well,
shares of Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ: DNDN)
sank 34% to $1.40 on more than 21.3 million shares traded as
the biotechnology company warned that there is “significant
risk” it would not be able to pay its debt that matures in 2016.
Uroplasty, Inc. (NASDAQ: UPI),
meanwhile, announced that National Government Services has issued a positive
coverage decision for Posterior Tibial Nerve Stimulation for the treatment of
urinary urgency, urinary frequency and urge incontinence associated with
overactive bladder. Uroplasty stock popped 18% to $2.88 following the
announcement.
Finally,
Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMEX)
shares jumped 11% to $1.28 after deep-ocean exploration company reported a
39% increase in its Q2 operating cash flow.
