Doral Financial Corporation (NYSE: DRL)
shares powered 21% higher to $5.69 on volume of more than 7.1 million shares
Wednesday after the financial services company said the Puerto Rico Supreme
Court has ruled that the burden is on the Puerto Rican government to
demonstrate the basis for its decision to arbitrarily nullify its longstanding
tax agreement with Doral.
As well,
shares of Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS)
slipped 21% to $20.07 on more than 6.2 million shares traded as the information
technology company reported second-quarter earnings that fell far short of
analysts’ expectations.
NQ Mobile (NYSE: NQ),
meanwhile, announced a partnership with A Wireless, one of the
largest Verizon Wireless Premium Retailers, for device security solutions.
NQ Mobile stock gained 22% to $6.55 following the announcement.
Finally,
Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: HA)
shares jumped 14% to $14.75 after the parent company of Hawaiian Airlines reported
second-quarter net income of $0.43 a share, compared with $0.21 during the same
period last year and $0.02 better than the Wall Street consensus forecast.
