Digital Ally, Inc. (NASDAQ: DGLY)
shares soared 127% to $7.23 on volume of more than 6.1 million shares Thursday
after the manufacturer of video surveillance products for law enforcement said
it has been notified by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that its initial
patent (No. 8,781,292) on its VuLink connectivity system has been approved
and will be issued on July 15, 2014. The company also announced that it has
begun shipping the new product to law enforcement customers.

As well,
shares of Potbelly Corporation
(NASDAQ:
PBPB
) slid 25% to $10.97 on more than 7.1 million shares traded as the
sandwich seller provided second-quarter revenue and profit estimates that were
below analysts’ expectations.  

Can-Fite BioPharma Ltd. (NYSE MKT:
CANF
), meanwhile, reported that the Israeli Ministry of Health has approved
the use of its drug CF102 for a patient with hepatocellular
carcinoma, the most common form of liver cancer, under the country’s
Compassionate Use Program. Can-Fite BioPharma stock popped 19% to $4.18 following
the announcement.

Finally,
Cray Inc. (NASDAQ: CRAY)
shares climbed 16% to $31.49 after the supercomputer maker said it has been
awarded one of the largest contracts in its history — a $174 million deal to
provide the National Nuclear Security Administration with a next generation
CrayXC supercomputer and a Cray Sonexion storage system.
