China Green Agriculture, Inc. (NYSE: CGA)
shares powered 25% higher to $2.85 on volume of more than 13.5 million shares
Friday after the Chinese producer of humic acid-based compound fertilizers
announced that it expects fiscal 2015 revenue of between $254.7 million to
$268.8 million and net income of $26 million to $35.1 million.
As well,
shares of Amarin Corporation plc (NASDAQ: AMRN)
slid 19% to $1.47 on more than 14.4 million shares traded as the
biopharmaceutical firm reported that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) has denied the company’s appeal of FDA’s rescission of the ANCHOR
clinical trial Special Protocol Assessment agreement.
Conversant, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNVR),
meanwhile, said it has agreed to be acquired by Alliance Data Systems Corporation (NYSE: ADS)
for a combination of cash and stock valued at approximately $2.3 billion, or
$35 per Conversant share. Conversant is a digital marketing company. Its stock
popped 30% to $34.80 following the announcement.
Finally,
Lakeland Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: LAKE)
shares climbed 13% to $6.85 after the manufacturer of industrial protective
clothing announced the global availability of its protective apparel for use in
handling the Ebola virus.
