Tosca Mining Corp. (TSXV: TSQ) Confirms Presence of “Significant Mineralization” With Latest Exploration Results

Published:

Tosca Mining Corp.
(TSXV: TSQ) on Monday, January 27, 2014, reported
results from recent exploration activity carried out on its Carol Copper
project, located in the State of Sonora, Mexico, which lies 5 km northeast
of the producing Piedras Verdes mine, Mexico’s third largest copper producer
with output of more than 70 million lbs per year.

Previous work by past operators identified widespread polymetallics karn-style
mineralization in a number of areas of the property, including the Balde
Sur target, where 12 trenches were completed. Tosca re-opened select portions
of two of these trenches, BS-06 and BS-08, to validate past results in
preparation for a proposed drill program.

“These results confirm the presence of significant mineralization on the
ground (referring to the continuous chip channel sampling in both trenches
conducted at one metre intervals). The next step is the property will see
its first ever drill program. We’re working on the timing and details of
the program now,” Jonathan George, a Director of Tosca Mining and consulting
geologist, told SmallCapPower.com.

As well, two grab samples taken from historic workings located in the
immediate vicinity of trench BS-06 (one to the south and one to the north)
returned grades as high as 7% copper and 94.3 grams per tonne silver.

The company added that these recent results confirm the quality of past
work performed on the property, and will assist in targeting drill holes
to investigate mineralization at depth.

In a recent interview with Small Cap Power (read the
interview here), Mr. George said that there were 17 trenches done
in the past, many of which showed values of more than 1% copper equivalent
widespread over an area of more than a kilometre by 800 metres.

Tosca Mining currently has about 17 million shares outstanding, or approximately
25 million fully diluted. Tosca stock climbed more than 8% to 6.5 cents
in mid-afternoon trading on Monday.
