Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ: CSIQ), a designer, developer, and manufacturer of solar wafers, cells and solar module products that convert sunlight into electricity for a variety of uses, was the top performer in the U.S. industrial sector yesterday after climbing 24.3% on robust second-quarter 2014 earnings results and strong earnings estimates for 2014 on the back of higher shipments and prices. The stock breached all the key technical resistance levels of 30, 50 and 200 DMAs at $27.46, $27.25 and $30.69 respectively and closed yesterday at $31.03 while recording significant volumes of 19.4 million shares. During the past 5-trading sessions, the stock gained 20.9% with daily average trading volumes of 6.2 million shares, while the stock is up 9% in the past one month with daily average trading volumes of 3.2 million shares.

Shares of HealthLease Properties REIT (TSX: HLP-U), an open-ended real estate investment trust that owns the land and buildings, and leases them to operators on a long-term, triple-net lease basis, rallied 31% Wednesday while recording significant volumes of 4.7 million shares after the company announced the acquisition of HealthLease in a transaction valued at $950.0 million. The stock surged yesterday breaking the short term 30-day DMA at C$10.89 and closed at its 52-week high of C$14.21 per share. During the past 5-trading sessions, the stock rallied 31.8% with daily average trading volumes of 961,402 shares, while the stock accumulated over 34% during the past one month with daily average trading volumes of 218,630 shares. The stock is up 45% year-to-date.
