Sub $4 Canadian Mining Stocks Outperforming Metal Prices with Increased Volumes: Investment Idea of the Day

Published:

Rising metal prices pushed the Canada’s benchmark index S&P/TSX index
to its two-and-half year high last week with far more shares changing hands
than in a normal session. Six out of ten main sector indices advanced last
week with S&P/TSX composite metals & mining industry index leading
the league. U.S. indices remained mixed last week amid U.S. earnings reports
and economic data showing rising industrial production and declining housing
starts.

Ubika Research has picked ten diversified metals & mining stocks trading
below $4 which have outperformed the rise in metal prices with higher market
interest touching their intraday 52-week highs last week. The 5-day average
trading volumes of these stocks are significantly higher than their one
month daily average trading volumes. The shortlisted stocks outperformed
their respective indices during the week recording price gains ranging
from 5% to 71% with daily average traded volume in excess of 100,000.
