Agile Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: AGRX)
shares surged 35% to $10.33 on Monday as the women’s health specialty
pharmaceutical company said
it has received a patent from the U.S. patent office, which is a continuation
of its prior patent US 8,246,978 and is intended to provide additional
patent protection covering its contraceptive patch, Twirla ethinyl
estradiol and levonorgestrel transdermal system.
As well,
shares of ParkerVision, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRKR)
plunged 63% to $1.85 on more than 38.8 million shares traded after the developer
of radio-frequency (RF) technologies was informed that a Florida judge
ruled in favor of its competitor, Qualcomm, in a patent infringement trial.
Nanosphere, Inc. (NASDAQ: NSPH),
meanwhile, reported that it has been selected by HealthTrust as a provider of
multi-target molecular diagnostic tests for the nearly 1,400 acute care
facilities that are part of the HealthTrust membership. Nanosphere stock popped
15% to $1.57 following the announcement.
Finally,
Nordic
American Offshore Ltd. (NYSE: NAO)
shares jumped 13% to $18.76 as the company announced that it has entered into
firm agreements to purchase two newbuilding Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) with
essentially similar design and capabilities as its current fleet. The
delivery of these two newbuildings will increase the company’s fleet to 10 PSVs
during the second and third quarter of 2015.
