cap stocks making big moves on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 (as of 4 pm EST)
AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV)
shares shot up 13% to $35.05 on volume of more than 2.9 million shares
Wednesday after the technology solutions provider reported fiscal
fourth-quarter earnings of 35 cents a share on revenue of $73.5 million.
Analysts had expected 23 cents a share on revenue of $69.6 million.
As well,
shares of Gigamon Inc. (NASDAQ: GIMO)
sank 32% to $12.29 on more than 8.3 million shares traded as the networking-hardware
company cuts its revenue outlook for the second quarter, citing
“challenges with closing deals.”
Acasti Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ: ACST),
meanwhile, announced the completion of two trials, the Phase II double-blind,
placebo-controlled (TRIFECTA) study and the Pharmacokinetic (PK) trial. The
biopharmaceutical company is focused on the research, development and
commercialization of new krill oil-based forms of omega-3 phospholipid
therapies for the treatment and prevention of certain cardiometabolic
disorders. Acasti Pharma stock moved up 8% to $1.08.
Finally,
The Container Store (NYSE: TCS)
shares fell 8% to $24.80 after several analysts cut their price target on
the retailer’s stock following its disappointing first-quarter results.
The Container Store also lowered its full-year financial forecast amid what it
calls, “a retail funk” that hurt sales growth.
