Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: CDTI)
shares surged 133% to $3.91 on Thursday after the company announced a “breakthrough”
clean air technology designed to eliminate the need for expensive platinum
group and rare earth metals in catalytic converters. The United States Patent
and Trademark Office awarded the company two new patents to cover the
technology. These patents represent the first of a family of patents for CDTi’s
Spinel(TM) technology, a proprietary clean emissions exhaust technology that
promises to dramatically reduce the cost of attaining more stringent clean air
standards.
As well,
share of Lakeland Industries Inc. (NASDAQ: LAKE)
shot up 23% to $14.24 following a rampant increase in the company’s production
of hazmat suits. The protective suit maker announced that it has estimated that
the recent Ebola epidemic has led to orders of hazmat suits to be around the 1
million figure. Furthermore, the company announced that it has plans to double
its monthly production capacity for its ChemMax and MicoMax protective suits.
Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ: CRNT)
stock, meanwhile, sank 33% to $1.36 after the company reported a loss of $0.05
per share ($0.02 excluding non-recurring items) as per Q3. The figure reported
was worse than what the Capital IQ Consensus Estimate of $0.03 was. Gross
margin on a non-GAAP basis was 25.7% of revenues in the third quarter of 2014,
compared to 31.9% of revenues in the third quarter of 2013, and compared to
27.0% of revenues in the second quarter of 2014.
