RealD Inc. (NYSE: RLD)
shares surged 27% to $11.78 on volume of more than 3 million shares Thursday
after the global licensor of 3D and other visual technologies said activist
investor Starboard Value LP offered to acquire the remaining shares in RealD
for $12 per share in cash, valuing the company at approximately $540 million.
As well,
shares of Horsehead Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: ZINC)
slipped 7% to $14.78 on more than 3.4 million shares traded as the producer of
specialty zinc and zinc-based products reported that a temporary outage at its
Mooresboro, North Carolina zinc production facility at the beginning of the
third quarter limited production during the first half of the quarter, while production
during the second half of the quarter was impeded mainly by operational issues
associated with controlling the removal of solids in the clarifier unit
downstream of the leaching process.
AAC Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAC)
stock, meanwhile, popped 23% to $18.50 on its first day of trading Thursday.

shares shot up 33% to $4.41 after the company announced that, through its
distributor in Brazil, Semina Industria e Comercio Ltda, it has been awarded an
