Angie’s List (NASDAQ: ANGI) Shares Surge on Sale Speculation: U.S. Daily Market Movers

Angie’s List (NASDAQ: ANGI)
shares shot up 19% to $7.59 on volume of more than 10.5 million shares Wednesday
after the Financial Times reported that the
member-reviewed online services marketplace has
hired bankers to “help it explore strategic options, including a possible
sale of the business.” 

As well,
shares of Westport Innovations Inc.
(NASDAQ:
WPRT
) sank 25% to $7.91 on more than 5.3 million shares traded as the
natural gas engines and vehicles manufacturer lowered its fiscal 2014 revenue
guidance.

Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Corporation (NASDAQ: TKMR)
stock, meanwhile, popped 18% to $24.99 following a report that the company is
working to launch a controlled clinical trial of its early-stage Ebola drug,
which may start later this year, this after the confirmation of the first case
of Ebola on U.S. soil.  

Finally,
Ardelyx, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARDX)
shares powered 34% higher to $19 after the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical
company reported what it called “positive results” from its 371 patient Phase
2b clinical trial evaluating tenapanor in patients with
constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome.
