Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: INFI)
shares powered 44% higher to $15.73 on volume of more than 17.7 million shares
Wednesday after the biopharmaceutical company said it will partner with Abbvie
to develop and market Infinity’s experimental blood cancer drug IPI-145
(duvelisib).
As well,
shares of Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc.
(NASDAQ:
MBII) sank 44% to $3.15 on more than 2.4 million shares traded as the provider
of bio-based pest management and plant health products announced that, at
the recommendation of management, the Audit Committee of its Board of Directors
has begun an internal investigation after management learned of documents
calling into question the recognition of revenue in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Magal Security Systems, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MAGS),
meanwhile, reported the launch of its new product RoboGuard, a surveillance
robot that travels on a monorail, constantly patrolling a secured
perimeter. Magal Security stock popped 17% to $5.16 following the
announcement.
Finally,
IRadimed Corporation (NASDAQ: IRMD)
shares slid 32% to $7.10 after the MRI product developer said it has received a
warning letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) relating to an
inspection of the company’s facility that took place in April 2014.
