XRS Corporation (NASDAQ: XRSC)
shares surged 83% to $5.52 on Tuesday after the provider of fleet management
and compliance software solutions to the trucking industry said it has agreed
to be acquired by Omnitracs, LLC for $5.60 per share in cash, or a total
consideration of about $178 million.
As well,
shares of Exelixis, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXEL)
plunged 55% to $1.85 on volume of more than 42.8 million shares as the biopharmaceutical
company announced that its potential prostate cancer
treatment cabozantinib did not prolong survival in subjects with
advanced prostate cancer in a Phase III trial.
Digital Ally, Inc. (NASDAQ: DGLY),
meanwhile, forecast a 26% jump in its full-year revenue to about $22.5 million,
encouraged by a “five-fold” rise in inquiries for its wearable
cameras from police departments in the aftermath of the fatal shooting in
Ferguson this month. Digital Ally stock popped 79% to $33.41 following the
announcement.
Finally,
China HGS Real Estate, Inc. (NASDAQ: HGSH)
shares shot up 18% to $8.85 after the Chinese regional real estate developer said
it has signed its second shanty area rebuilding framework agreement with the
Hantai District government of Hanzhong City, which has a budgeted investment of
about US$750 million.
