Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: HALO)
shares surged 14% to $9.17 on volume of more than 5.2 million shares Thursday
after the biopharmaceutical company reported that the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) has removed the clinical hold on patient enrollment and
dosing of PEGPH20 in the ongoing Phase 2 trial (Study 202) evaluating PEGPH20
in patients with pancreatic cancer, permitting the study to resume under a
revised protocol.
As well,
shares of RCS Capital Corporation (NASDAQ: RCAP)
slipped 10% to $20.25 on more than 7.4 million shares traded as the investment
firm said it plans to offer $384.8 million of its Class A common
stock at a price of $20.25 a share.
MicroVision, Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS),
meanwhile, announced that it is collaborating with a major global consumer
electronics brand to develop a display engine for use in a smartphone product. MicroVision
stock moved up 14% to $2.
Finally,
BioReference Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ: BRLI)
shares jumped 16% to $30.99 after the clinical testing laboratory reported
second-quarter earnings and revenue that beat Wall Street expectations.
