Stocks Gaining with Increased Trading Volumes despite Declining Markets in the Last Week: Investment Idea of the Day

North American indices witnessed huge sell-off last week on concerns of
sharp drops in the value of currencies in several emerging markets, including
Turkey, Russia, South Africa and Argentina, subdued corporate earnings
and contracting Chinese manufacturing sector. The CBOE VIX was up 41%,
its largest weekly gain since the week ending July 29, 2011.

Ubika Research has shortlisted the following stocks across sectors which
registered gains last week with higher market interest amid decline in
equity indices. These stocks are hovering around their 52-week highs. The
5-day average trading volumes of these stocks are significantly higher
than their one month daily average trading volumes. The shortlisted stocks
outperformed their respective indices during the week, recording price
gains ranging from 6% to 159% with average traded volume in excess of 100,000.
