The U.S equity indices ended 2013 with their biggest annual percentage
gains since 1997, while the Canadian indices remained mixed during the

performer after NASDAQ, registering gains of 37%. In the Canadian markets,
S&P/TSX Composite Index gained 9.6% during the year, while the S&P/TSX
Composite Venture Index witnessed a decline of 23.7% in 2013.
