Burgeoning capital markets around the legal cannabis industry have another noteworthy country to look out for, Jamaica. The country has a rich culture and a supportive government that now supports a global outlook towards the legal growth and manufacturing of medical and recreational cannabis.
On Thursday, May 24, 2018, to highlight this development, Gravitas Financial Inc. the parent company of SmallCapPower hosted an event along with Timeless Herbal Care Ltd, a leading medical marijuana brand in Jamaica.
Luminaries who attended the event include Audley Shaw (Jamaica’s Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries), Dr. Yasmin Hurd, and ex-NFL players Lance Johnstone (Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Viking) and Marques Colston (Super Bowl XLIV winning team of the New Orleans Saints).
Courtney Betty, who was the host for the evening, is the founder and CEO of Timeless Herbal Care and is an industry leader in Jamaica, working with government officials and licensing agencies to build a vertically-integrated structure from seed-to-patient, that meets international standards.
In February the company announced that it had successfully harvested the first legal commercial cannabis in Jamaica in over a century! The harvest was certified by the Jamaican Cannabis Licensing Authority.
Timeless Herbal Care’s success stems from the company’s commitment to contributing to the economic and social development of Jamaican communities.
