Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. (CVE:BGM), a gold junior, powered higher after releasing drill results from its flagship Cariboo Gold Project in British Columbia

Eye-popping gold drill results sparked much excitement in a gold junior Monday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Monday, April 17, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):
Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. (TSXV: BGM) shares shot up 27% to $1.17 on Monday after the gold junior announced a new discovery from the ongoing 130,000 metre Phase II Island Mountain and Valley Zone exploration drilling program at its flagship Cariboo Gold Project in British Columbia, which included 19.20 g/t gold over 54.40 metres.
As well, shares of Westport Fuel Systems Inc. (TSX: WPRT) surged 20% to $1.68 as the manufacturer of clean-burning fuel systems and components said it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell the assets of its Auxiliary Power Unit business for US$70 million, subject to certain customary adjustments. The transaction is expected to close within a few weeks.
Peeks Social Ltd. (TSXV: PEEK), meanwhile, reported that Apple Inc. has approved a new version of the Peeks iOS app, which includes the OfferBox, Direct Messenger, and various other improvements. Peeks Social stock moved up 17% to $1.17 following the announcement.
Finally, Primero Mining Corp. (TSX: P) shares rose 11% to $0.82 after the gold miner announced that it has successfully resolved the work stoppage of unionized employees that began on February 15, 2017. Operations are expected to resume at Primero’s San Dimas mine in Mexico on April 18, 2017.
