A troubled transportation name got a lift from pending sales Wednesday, while a semiconductor play eased following an update. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):
Bombardier Inc. (TSX: BBD.B) shares surged 21% to $1.09 on Wednesday after the manufacturer of planes and trains announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent for the sale and purchase of 45 CS300 aircraft with options for an additional 30 CS300 aircraft, which also includes conversion rights to CS100 aircraft.

As well, shares of POET Technologies Inc. (TSXV: PTK) slipped 9% to $1 as the developer of opto-electronics fabrication processes for the semiconductor industry said it is “on-plan” in every developmental, operational and commercial respect in its lab-to-fab initiative to deliver its first product prototypes this year.
Great Lakes Graphite Inc. (TSXV: GLK), meanwhile, reported that it has received two purchase orders from a large, Texas-based industrial company whose initial requirement consists of 40 tonnes of micronized graphite products in total. Great Lakes Graphite stock moved up 15% to $0.115 following the announcement late Tuesday.
