Natcore Technology Inc. (TSXV:
NXT) shares powered 60% higher to $0.75 on Thursday after the solar energy
technology provider said it has developed a new solar cell structure that will
simplify the production process, significantly lower costs, and speed the path
toward “ultra high-efficiency cells.”
As well,
shares of Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp.
(TSX:
PRE) sank 46% to $2.85 as Mexico’s Alfa SAB and partner Harbour Energy Ltd.
announced that it would drop its bid to buy the Latin American focused oil and
gas producer/explorer.
Verisante Technology, Inc. (TSXV:
VRS), meanwhile, reported that it has amended its licensing agreement with
the BC Cancer Agency to include “more favorable terms,” according to the
company. Verisante is a medical device developer set to commercialize systems
for the early detection of cancer. Its stock moved up 8% to $0.13 following
the announcement.
