Healthcare Stock Climbs on U.S. Acquisition: Today’s Canadian Small Cap Market Movers

Quantum International Income Corp. (TSXV:
QIC
) shares jumped 21% to $0.485 on Friday after the healthcare company that
delivers integrated health solutions said it has signed a definitive agreement to
acquire Columbus Hospital LTACH, LLC, a company operating a long term acute
care hospital in New Jersey. The LTACH is currently running on a four-month
unaudited annualized basis of approximately US$40 million in revenue with about
US$13.5 million of EBITDA.

As well,
shares of Temple Hotels Inc. (TSX:
TPH
) rose 10% to $2.95 as Morguard Corporation announced that it has
acquired 986,473 common shares of Temple between May 8, 2015 and June 10, 2015
, at a weighted average price of approximately $2.48 per common share,
increasing its ownership stake in the company to 12%.

Eureka Resources Inc. (TSXV:
EUK
), meanwhile, reported that significant changes have been made to its Board
of Directors and management team. Eureka is developing the Frasergold Project
in British Columbia. It stock price moved up 90% to $0.095 following the announcement.
