stocks making big moves on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 (as of 4 pm EST), as

Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (TSX:
PRE) shares soared 28% to $6.16 on volume of more than 28.6 million
shares Wednesday after the Latin-American focused oil and gas producer/explorer
confirmed that Mexican conglomerate Alfa Sab de CV and Harbour Energy have
offered C$6.50 per share for Pacific Rubiales, or a total consideration of
approximately C$2.05 billon. Alfa currently has an 18.95% stake inthe company.
As well, shares of Avigilon Corporation (TSX: AVO) slid 24% to $15.85 as the provider of
end-to-end security solutions announced a 35% increase in its
first-quarter revenue to $75.4 million, although its adjusted earnings for the
period fell 6% to $7.9 million.
CO2 Solutions Inc. (TSXV: CST), meanwhile, reported that it has brought
forward operation of its 10 tonne per day (tpd) carbon capture demonstration
project, in order to pursue commercial opportunities. The company provides enzyme-enabled carbon capture
technology. CO2 Solutions stock popped 17% to $0.21
following the announcement.
Finally, 5N Plus Inc. (TSX: VNP) shares slipped 18% to $1.68 after the specialty
metal and chemical products producer said its first-quarter revenue
dropped to $95.7 million from $142.4 million, while the company swung to
a net loss of $1.9 million from a profit of $4.5 million during the same
period last year.
