Qualys, Inc. (NASDAQ: QLYS) shares
jumped 15% to $46.94 on Tuesday after the security analysis product
manufacturer reported fourth-quarter earnings of $25.9 million, or $0.69 per
share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains, came in at $0.15 per share. The
results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts
surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $0.08 per share.
As well,
shares of Amkor Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMKR) shot up 25%
to $8.80 after the semiconductor packaging manufacturer reported fourth-quarter
earnings that beat analysts’ estimates. The Arizona-based provider of
outsourced semiconductor packaging and test services reported fourth quarter
non-GAAP earnings per diluted share of $0.38 on net sales of $853.11 million,
surpassing the Reuters earnings per share and revenue estimates of $0.14 and
$780.5 million, respectively.
Biocept, Inc. (NASDAQ: BIOC) stock,
meanwhile, plummeted 34% to $1.23 following the molecular oncology diagnostics
company’s announcement of the pricing of 8 million shares of its common stock
and warrants at a combined offering price of $1.25. The warrants will have a
per share exercise price of $1.56, are exercisable immediately and will expire
five years from the date of issuance, the company said. The gross proceeds to
Biocept from this offering are expected to be approximately $10 million.
