Teranga Gold Corporation (TSX: TGZ)
shares rose 7% to $0.63 on volume of more than 2.3 million shares Friday after
the West African gold producer said its fourth-quarter gold production increase
36% to 71,278 ounces, while its all-in sustaining costs for the period fell 16%
to US$711 per ounce.
As well,
shares of Nuvo Research Inc. (TSX: NRI)
sank 50% to $4.51 as the specialty pharmaceutical company reported results from
its Phase 2 clinical trial conducted in Germany to determine the safety and
efficacy of WF10 and its main constituents in patients suffering from allergic
rhinitis. The company said that although the WF10 arm showed a reduction in
Total Nasal Symptom Score over the course of the observation period, similar to
the company’s previous 2010 Phase 2 proof-of-concept study, the difference
between it and the placebo arm failed to show a statistical significance three
weeks after the beginning of the study.
Finally, Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd. (TSXV: SCZ)
shares gained 20% to $0.325 after the Mexican focused silver company announced
fourth quarter 2014 production of 255,487 silver equivalent ounces from its
Rosario Mine in Mexico, representing a 32.8% quarter-over-quarter increase.
