Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (TSXV:
YFI) shares climbed 100% to $0.04 on volume of more than 1.6 million
shares Tuesday after the manufacturer of multi-channel WiFi3 technology
for high-density WiFi applications announced that it has dealt one of 23
technology patents to a major handset and tablet manufacturer. Edgewater
Wireless retains a perpetual license to use the patent in the company’s
current and future products.
“We’re
really pleased with this deal and it’s a true validation when a major player in
the industry demands our technology” said Andrew Skafel,
President & CEO of Edgewater Wireless. “Edgewater is building
world class WiFi technology and this is just one of the 23 current patents we
currently own. We plan to build on this deal and continue with the
technology licensing side of our business.”
As well,
shares of Bankers Petroleum Ltd. (TSX: BNK)
slid 14% to $2.56 on more than 2.1 million shares traded as the Canadian-based
oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in Albania said
it has achieved record 2014 average production of 20,687 bopd, a 14% increase
from 2013.
Giyani Gold Corp. (TSXV: WDG),
meanwhile, reported that the binding Letter of Intent agreement with the
shareholders of Horizon Enerji A.?. and Sumo Coal (Pty) Ltd. has expired in
accordance with its terms, as a definitive agreement was not entered into by
December 31, 2014. Giyani holds gold prospecting rights in the Giyani
Greenstone Belt in South Africa. Giyani Gold stock plunged 57% to $0.16 on
volume of more than 1.9 million shares following the announcement.
