Nevsun Resources Ltd. (TSX: NSU)
shares surged 11% to $4.72 on volume of more than 3.1 million shares Thursday
after Bloomberg reported that
Qatar-backed mining fund QKR Corp. is close to making a bid of about $1 billion
for the Canadian copper miner operating in Eritrea.
As well,
shares of Falco Resources Ltd. (TSXV: FPC)
moved up 8% to $0.425 as the junior explorer said it has intersected VMS
style mineralization at its Lac Hervé property in Quebec.
Hyperion Exploration Corp. (TSXV: HYX),
meanwhile, said it has agreed to be acquired by Tri-Win International
Investment Group Inc. for a cash price of $0.14 per common share, or a total
consideration of approximately $31.9 million including the assumption of debt.
Hyperion Exploration stock popped 100% to $0.13 following the announcement.
Finally, Redknee Solutions Inc. (TSX: RKN)
shares rose 5% to $4.09 after the provider of real-time monetization and
subscriber management software announced that a large national corporation in
Asia Pacific has signed an order worth over $13 million dollars with Redknee to
support its growth in the retail monetization sector.
