Viggle Inc. (NASDAQ: VGGL)
shares shot up 117% to $3.50 on Wednesday after the company reported its first
quarter fiscal 2015 revenue, which grew 49% to $5.476 million from $4.338
million a year ago. For first quarter of fiscal 2015, Viggle reported an adjusted
EBITDA loss of $7.8 million as compared to an adjusted EBITDA loss of $5.9
million a year earlier. The entertainment marketing and rewards platform firm
said its total reach was 26.2 million and active reach was 10.3 million in
September 2014. The Viggle platform’s net registered users surpassed 7 million
during the quarter, which was an increase of 112% from the same quarter of the
prior year.
As well,
shares of Biocept, Inc. (NASDAQ: BIOC)
surged 40% to $3.84 as the molecular oncology diagnostics company announced the
launch of its lung cancer liquid biopsy testing that will be performed at the company’s
CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited laboratory.
Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG)
stock, meanwhile, dropped 17% to $4.24 after the maker of fuel-cell systems for
forklifts reported third-quarter revenue fell short of analysts’ estimates.
