Junior Gold Miner Shines on Drill Results

Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX:TXG), a junior gold miner, moved up after announcing drill results from its 100% owned Morelos Gold Property

A near-term junior gold miner got a boost from assay results Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, January 5, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):

Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSE:TXG) shares climbed 21% to $26.75 on Thursday after the junior gold miner announced drill results from the first portion of its drilling program under the ‘El Limon Sill’ exploration program at its 100% owned Morelos Gold Property in Mexico, which included 317.8 g/t gold over 3.4 metres.

As well, shares of GoGold Resources Inc. (TSE:GGD) rose 23% to $0.69 as the gold and silver miner said production for the quarter ended December 31, 2016, increased 122% over the previous quarter to 406,897 silver equivalent ounces.

Maple Leaf Green World (CVE:MGW), meanwhile, reported that it has received notice from Health Canada that its application to become a licensed producer under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) has progressed to the Review stage, which is Stage 5 of the seven stages process established under the ACMPR. Maple Leaf Green World stock popped 23% to $0.70 following the announcement.

Finally, Metanor Resources Inc. (CVE:MTO) shares gained 20% to $0.06 after the gold miner announced that it has increased its production guidance to between 30,000 and 36,000 ounces of gold during this current year.
