Gold Junior Glisters on Drill Results

Marathon Gold Corporation (TSX: MOZ), a gold junior, surged after announcing drill results from the Valentine Lake Gold Camp in Newfoundland

A few speculators took a shine to drill results from a gold junior Monday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Monday, January 16, 2017 (as of 4 pm EST):

Marathon Gold Corporation (TSX: MOZ) shares jumped 11% to $0.73 on Monday after the gold junior announced drill results from the Marathon Deposit at the Valentine Lake Gold Camp in Newfoundland, which included 25.33 g/t gold (uncut) over 14.0 meters.

As well, shares of Platinum Group Metals Ltd. (TSX: PTM) slipped 9% to $2.13 as the miner said production ramp up at the Maseve Mine in South Africa has been behind schedule, due primarily to poor mining contractor performance and delayed infrastructure completion.

Siyata Mobile Inc. (TSXV: SIM), meanwhile, reported that it has received a purchase order for its portfolio of Push-to-Talk Over Cellular devices from an undisclosed mobile operator for C$1.8 million. Siyata Mobile stock popped 15% to $0.415 following the announcement.

Finally, Sama Graphite Inc. (TSXV: SRG) shares gained 180% to $0.28 on its first day of trading on the TSX Venture Exchange. Sama Graphite is focused on developing the Lola Graphite deposit located in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa.
