A U.S./Canada patent application could be a big step for a cleantech stock Friday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Friday, October 28, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):

Cleantech stock dynaCERT Inc. (CVE:DYA) powered 23% higher to $0.405 on Friday after announcing that it has filed a patent application in the United States and Canada on its “Smart” Electronic Control Unit, a system and method of managing an on-demand electrolytic reactor for supplying hydrogen and oxygen gas to an internal combustion engine.

As well, shares of POET Technologies Inc. (CVE:PTK) slid 29% to $0.34 as the developer of opto-electronics and Photonic fabrication processes and products said it is planning an equity financing on a best-efforts basis to raise up to C$12,528,000 at a price of C$0.36 per unit.

NexJ Systems Inc. (TSE:NXJ), meanwhile, reported that its Q3 revenue increased 22% to $8.9 million, while swinging to a profit of $1.1 million during the period from a net loss of $1.2 million a year earlier. NexJ Systems stock moved up 13% to $2.55 following the announcement.

In addition, shares of Grand Power Logistics Group Inc. (CVE:GPW) climbed 46% to $0.08 as the provider of logistics and related services said its principal shareholders are planning take the Company private at a price of $0.09 per share in cash.

Finally, Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. (TSE:NDM) shares rose 10% to $1.07 after the junior explorer/developer announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Alaska-based Pebble Limited Partnership, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have filed a joint Notice in federal court stating their intent to enter into mediation in an effort to resolve ongoing litigation under the Federal Advisory Committee Act.
